I loved this image that Keith shot of his friend, Carrie Davis, owner of the local Fort Langley "Paper Moon" and decided to paint it. One of my instructors told me to always challenge myself and I have to say this painting was definitely a challenge. Not only the muted darks, the lights, the semi portrait but the layers and layers of colours and the reflective image of the car passing by the window challenged my abilities as an impressionistic artist as well as there is just 'so much going on' in Keith's photo. I had a lot of fun painting this as well as lots of hours of frustration but in the end I am happy with it and at least I gave it my best shot, learned a lot, and spent hours and hours painting. Thank you Keith! Here is the original photo that I worked from.
